Descrizione
The hut is the middle point of the naturalistic path “Antonio Curò”, halfway between Curò Hut and Vivione pass/Vivione Hut.
The surrounding area is part of Valbelviso-Barbellino natural reserve, has interesting flora and fauna as well as several small lakes. The winter room of the Hut has an emergency telephone to call the mountain rescue.
The hut was opened on 22 September 1985, thanks to the financial contribution of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), the Comunità Montana and the local labor. It is dedicated to the first president of the local section of the club, who died tragically in 1981 during an expedition in Peru, together with Italo Maj and Livio Piantoni. In 1986 the hut was almost completely destroyed by a fire, but the members of the section above immediately rebuilt it. Located at an altitude of 2328 m, it is the highest Hut in the Bergamo Orobie.
