Sentiero 230: Rifugio Baita Cernello - Passo Portula

From the Rifugio Baita Cernello  (1956 m) climb westward  and then to north, along the ridge overlooking the basin of Cardeto. Reached at an altitude of around 2340 m, below Mount Madonnino, go downhill to the near Portula Pass (2278 m). Wide sight on the mountain of Valbondione Valley and Brembana Valley. On one side you can see also the mountains around Lecco and on the other side the Scalve Valley. Here you can go on for a long but fascinating trail to Rifugio Calvi via the 226 path or go downhill to the basin of Cardeto and its five lakes, on the 223 path, still remaining in Seriana Valley.
