Beyond Valgoglio village follow the road leading to the ENEL power plant (free and toll parking facility) turn right on the paved road to Valenti and Bortolotti hamlets. The path begins at 970 m height, climbing for a first stretch of the road, then on the old mule track reaching Bortolotti hamlet(1146 m). Climb up in the meadows along the penstock coming from the upper lakes and then enter the dense forest. Follow the path reaching a forest road, follow it for a while then turn left and climbing a steep slope. The path with some hairpin bends leads to a plateau (about 1800 m) with some ENEL buildings. From here turn left climbing westward on a steep slope (crossroad on the right with 228 path to Cernello hut). At the end you reach the Canali lake and the “Capanna Lago Nero” (hut at 1945 m). Just above it there is the “Lago Nero” (dam and lake at 2013 m). Hiking along the shore, you reach Aviasco Lake (2070 m) and the crossroad with 229 path that climbs to Aviasco Pass.
