Descrizione
Recently built, the Hut is located at 1930 m of altitude, at 1.5 km from Dordona pass, in the municipality of Fusine (north side of the Orobie watershed). The Hut is reachable from north by a dirt road opened in 2004, which reaches the pass and joins another dirt road coming from Foppolo (southern side). This is the second dirt road connecting the two sides of the Orobie watershed, after the paved road leading to San Marco pass. The Hut has a restaurant with local specialties and offers hot showers.
At Dordona pass is possible to see the trenches excavated during WWI, which were conceived as a secondary defense line. Here - every autumn - takes place a mountain bike competition called “Dordona SkyBike”.
The hut is on the path n° 101A, but it can be reached also from Foppolo; furthermore, the hut is close to the stretch Ca’ San Marco - Foppolo of the Sentiero delle Orobie / Orobie Trail: at Tartano pass, take for lakes “di Porcile” and “dei Lupi” pass; Dordona Hut is located just below the pass.
