126 - Da Brumano località Sbarra al Passo del Palio

Dopo aver parcheggiato l’auto in località Sbarra, ci incamminiamo sulla strada che sale sulla destra. Il fondo è compatto ed il cammino è piacevole. Il terreno è sempre compatto e si sale su una pendenza leggera. Superiamo alla nostra destra una santella votiva in muratura. In lontananza ammiriamo il panorama di Brumano e della Valle Imagna. Superiamo sulla nostra destra i lavori di sistemazione di una casa. Raggiungiamo un incrocio tra un sentiero che sale da Brumano e la strada per il Rifugio Resegone. Svoltiamo a destra sul percorso che ci condurrà al Passo del Palio. Un palo segnaletico ci indica che si incrociano due sentieri CAI, il 577 e il 578. La strada sala con una pendenza regolare grazie ai tornanti realizzati. Dopo questo tornante raggiungiamo un’abitazione sulla destra. Lungo il cammino incontriamo delle baite in via di sistemazione. La strada ora spiana leggermente e prosegue sulla montagna sulla destra. Una serie di curve e controcurve ci porteranno verso il Passo del Palio. Raggiungiamo e superiamo una piccola cappelletta in muratura. Abbiamo raggiunto finalmente il Passo del Palio. Alla nostra destra ammiriamo la Costa del Palio. Un cartello ci indica la direzione verso la valle in territorio lecchese. La valle è ricca di prati ed alpeggi. Durante da discesa dal Passo del Palio, al bivio, realizziamo una segnalazione di fortuna indicante il 577. Abbiamo cambiato percorso, con l’intento di realizzare un anello nella nostra escursione. La strada è ben tenuta, con una pendenza regolare e con dei tratti cementati per agevolare la salita. Alla nostra destra, sale nel prato un sentiero, verso il gruppo del Resegone. Ci fermiamo un attimo per ammirare le cime innevate. Raggiungiamo una splendida casa privata, sulla nostra sinistra. Sull’altro versante della valletta è presente il ristoro presso il Grande Faggio. Curve e controcurve ci portano verso il fondovalle, in modo gradevole e con poca fatica. Incontriamo un nuovo tratto cementato in modo regolare. Abbiamo raggiunto alla nostra destra il bacino, che permette di recuperare l’acqua per il Rifugio Resegone. Siamo al termine della discesa e raggiungiamo il bivio, sulla strada per il rifugio, noi svoltiamo a sinistra. In lontananza vediamo il bivio, sulla sinistra, che all’inizio del cammino abbiamo seguito per la salita. Nei pressi di un piccolo guado, sulla sinistra, sale un sentiero verso il Grande Faggio. Il cartello ci informa che è chiuso, decidiamo quindi di proseguire verso il punto, dal quale siamo partiti, questa mattina.

After parking the car in Sbarra, we set off along the road that climbs to the right. The surface is firm and the walk is pleasant. The ground remains firm as we climb a gentle slope. We pass a small stone shrine on our right. In the distance, we can admire the view of Brumano and the Imagna Valley. We pass some building work on a house on our right. We reach a junction between a path climbing up from Brumano and the road to the Resegone Refuge. We turn right onto the path that will take us to Passo del Palio. A signpost indicates that two CAI paths, 577 and 578, intersect here. The road climbs at a steady gradient thanks to the hairpin bends. After this hairpin bend, we reach a house on the right. Along the way, we come across some mountain huts undergoing renovation. The road now levels out slightly and continues up the mountain on the right. A series of bends and counter-bends will take us towards Passo del Palio. We reach and pass a small stone chapel. We have finally reached Passo del Palio. To our right, we can admire the Costa del Palio. A sign points us towards the valley in the Lecco area. The valley is full of meadows and mountain pastures. During the descent from the Passo del Palio, at the junction, we put up a makeshift sign indicating 577. We have changed our route, with the aim of creating a loop for our hike. The road is well-maintained, with a steady gradient and some concrete sections to make the climb easier. To our right, a path climbs up through the meadow towards the Resegone group. We stop for a moment to admire the snow-capped peaks. We reach a splendid private house on our left. On the other side of the valley lies the Grande Faggio refreshment point. A series of bends and counter-bends take us towards the valley floor, pleasantly and with little effort. We come across another section of the path that has been regularly paved. We have reached the reservoir on our right, which supplies water to the Resegone Mountain Hut. We are at the end of the descent and reach the junction; on the road to the refuge, we turn left. In the distance, we can see the junction on the left, which we followed at the start of the walk for the ascent. Near a small ford on the left, a path climbs towards the Grande Faggio. The sign informs us that it is closed, so we decide to continue towards the point from which we set off this morning.
