130 - Da Azzone al Prato Grande ed alla Chiesetta Alpina

Parcheggiamo nello slargo sulla SP 60 tra Azzone e la Frazione Pradella e ci incamminiamo sul percorso sulla destra (segnavia CAI 429), siamo sulla Via Decia. Lungo la salita superiamo dei piccoli gradoni per lo scorrimento dell’acqua piovana. Raggiunto il bivio proseguiamo diritti lungo la strada agro silvo pastorale. Superiamo un fienile (“Teie”) ristrutturato parzialmente, alla nostra sinistra. Il percorso si inoltra nel bosco ed il fondo cambia, ma il cammino è spedito. Raggiungiamo un secondo fienile (“Teie”), sempre sulla sinistra, molto ben curato. Al bivio che incontriamo proseguiamo diritti, nello splendido bosco. Davanti a noi vediamo il proprietario, del fienile (“Teie”) sulla destra, che sta tagliando il legname. Uscendo dal bosco, siamo accolti dal verde del prato e dalle costruzioni che vediamo sulla cima. Sulla sinistra è presente una zona picnic con panche, tavoli e tettoia, rigorosamente in legno. Sulla destra ammiriamo la Chiesetta degli Alpini e ci avviciniamo ad essa. Dopo un momento di raccoglimento ci giriamo e possiamo ammirare il gruppo del Pizzo Camino Volgendo lo sguardo verso sinistra, vediamo il Monte Tornone con la cima ricoperta di neve. Dopo una sosta, riprendiamo il cammino, verso il punto di partenza dell’escursione.

We park in the clearing on the left side of Provincial Road 60, between Azzone and the hamlet of Pradella, 26, and set off along the path on the right (trail marker CAI 429), we are on Via Decia. As we climb, we pass some small steps designed to channel rainwater. When we reach the fork, we continue straight ahead along the rural road. We pass a partially renovated barn (“Teie”) on our left. The path enters the woods and the terrain changes, but the walk is brisk. reach a second barn (“Teie”), also on the left, which is very well maintained. At the fork we come to, we continue straight ahead through the beautiful woods. Ahead of us, we see the owner of the small barn (“Teie”) on the right, who is cutting wood. As we emerge from the woods, we are greeted by the green of the meadow and the buildings we see on the hilltop. On the left is a picnic area with benches, tables, and a shelter, all made entirely of wood. On the right, we can see the little Alpine Chapel and walk over to it. After a moment of reflection, we turn around and can admire the Pizzo Camino massif. Looking to the left, we see Monte Tornone with its snow-capped peak. After a short break, we resume our walk toward the starting point of the hike.
