05 - Dal Colle di Valcava al Monte Linzone

Dopo aver parcheggiato al colle di Valcava ci accingiamo a salire al Monte Linzone. Una volta giunti al valico troveremo molteplici posteggi dove lasciare la nostra autovettura e, una volta posteggiato, inizieremo a salire lungo una stradina cementata che parte proprio dal valico. La cima del monte Linzone, uno dei rilievi del sistema montuoso dell’Albenza, vista da Sud, appare come un tondeggiante cupolone che, verso est, scende fino alla lunga cresta sovrastante il sentiero che parte dalla Roncola San Bernardo. A nord-ovest digrada con un susseguirsi di dossi e avvallamenti fino al Colle di Valcava; il percorso dal colle segue, per lo più, il crinale spartiacque fra la valle San Martino e la valle Imagna. Ci incamminiamo in direzione delle antenne. Il sentiero salirà con pendenze lievi sino a raggiungere i ripetitori. Stiamo percorrendo il sentiero CAI 571. Il fondo è piuttosto sconnesso. Raggiungiamo le antenne e proseguiamo. Il sentiero è sempre più vario. Raggiunto il crinale del Prato della Costa (1418 m.), proseguiamo sulla traccia. In lontananza vediamo la cima da raggiungere. Dove la salita terminerà inizierà un lungo tratto a saliscendi sino a quando raggiungeremo il monte. Siamo arrivati sulla cima del Monte Linzone (1392 m.). Dalla vetta del monte è possibile ammirare un bellissimo panorama sia verso le Orobie sia verso la pianura. Dopo aver ammirato il panorama, scendiamo sull’altro versante. Al termine di questa breve discesa raggiungiamo e superiamo, sulla nostra sinistra, un cascinale diroccato. Dopo un breve tratto arriviamo in vista di un palo segnaletico. Al bivio svoltiamo a destra e proseguiamo su questo sentiero. Superiamo due baite e proseguiamo il cammino su un sentiero facile e con terreno compatto. Entriamo in piccolo faggeto dove sono presenti delle grosse radici. All’uscita del boschetto, lungo il percorso incontriamo un palo segnaletico con appesi degli scarponi. Proseguiamo su un tratto di sentiero con delle piccole roccette. Ci inseriamo su una strada sterrata, dove verso valle è presente una staccionata e sul pianoro sottostante delle aree di sosta. Raggiungiamo, dopo aver lasciato la strada, un tratto di sentiero in discesa con delle roccette. Al termine della discesa, troviamo sulla sinistra un palo segnaletico. Riprendiamo la strada sterrata e proseguiamo in direzione di quella asfaltata. Questo tratto è decisamente rilassante. Il cammino è sempre più piacevole e ci permette di guardarci intorno. Siamo arrivati al termine della strada sterrata e ci inseriamo su quella asfaltata, svoltando a destra arriviamo al punto da dove siamo partiti, avendo alle spalle il cartellone stradale di Torre de' Busi.

After parking at the Valcava pass, we are about to climb to Monte Linzone. Once we reach the pass, we will find several parking areas where we can leave our car, and once parked we will begin to climb along a cemented road that starts right from the pass. The peak of Mount Linzone, one of the reliefs of the Albenza mountain system, seen from the south, appears as a rounded dome that, to the east, descends to the long ridge above the path starting from Roncola San Bernardo. To the north-west it slopes down with a succession of bumps and hollows to Colle di Valcava; the path from the pass follows, for the most part, the watershed ridge between the San Martino and Imagna valleys. After parking at the pass, we start to climb to Monte Linzone.                        Once we reach the pass, we will find several parking areas where we can leave our car, and once parked, we begin to climb along a cemented road that starts at the pass. We set off in the direction of the antennas. The path climbs with gentle slopes until it reaches the repeaters. We are following CAI path no. 571. The ground is rather uneven. We reach the antennas and continue.The path is increasingly varied. Having reached the ridge of Prato della Costa (1418 m.), we continue on the track. In the distance we see the summit to be reached. Where the ascent ends, a long stretch of ups and downs begins until we reach the mountain. We have arrived at the summit of Monte Linzone (1392 m.). From the peak of the mountain, it is possible to admire a beautiful panorama both towards the Orobie and towards the plain. After admiring the panorama, we descend on the other side. At the end of this short descent, we reach and pass a ruined farmstead on our left. In front of us is the beautiful Shrine of the Holy Family. Small, but extremely fascinating in the way it is preserved. We leave the sanctuary after a short stop and arrive in sight of a signpost. We continue on this well-trodden path. We pass two huts and continue our walk on an easy path with firm ground. We enter a small beech grove where there are some large roots. Once past the roots, we continue on a slight descent. On the way out of the grove, we come across a signpost with boots hanging from it. We continue on a stretch of path with small rocks. 

We enter a dirt road, where there is a fence downstream and on the plateau below some rest areas. We reach, after leaving the road, a downhill section of path with some small rocks. At the end of the descent, we find a signpost on the left. We take the dirt road again and continue in the direction of the asphalt road. This section is definitely relaxing. The walk is increasingly pleasant and allows us to look around. We have arrived at the end of the dirt road and we enter the asphalted one, turning right we arrive at the point from where we started, having the road sign of Torre de Busi behind us.
