75 - Da Spinelli alle Baite del Moschel

Lo scenario che raggiungiamo si apre in un affascinante ed incontaminato anfiteatro naturale composto di prati, boschi, stalle, fienili e in cui non mancano le sorgenti d’acqua cristallina: è il trekking in Valzurio alle Baite del Moschel.  Raggiungiamo in auto la frazione di Valzurio (Comune Oltressenda Alta) dove vi segnaliamo la possibilità di ristoro presso la Baita Valle Azzurra, proseguiamo poi fino alla località Spinelli dove parcheggiamo l’auto (950 m.). La strada agro silvo pastorale, sale con facili pendenze nel bosco, verso le Baite del Möschel.  Incontriamo lungo il percorso, sulla destra. una casa molto ben tenuta, con un prato per il pascolo. Raggiungiamo un bivio e da lì proseguiamo sempre diritti. Lo spettacolo che ci appare, con il sole che fa capolino tra gli alberi, è incantevole. Ora la strada spiana leggermente e laggiù in fondo, intravediamo una radura. Raggiungiamo un ampio prato sulla sinistra della strada, ideale per una zona picnic. Proseguendo raggiungiamo, sulla sinistra, un cartello che ci informa su che cos’era (el Selter Ruì). Sulla sinistra del percorso è presente un vero frigorifero naturale (el Selter Ruì), dove si conservava il latte e il formaggio, grazie alle correnti fredde sotterranee. Saliamo sulla scaletta e ammiriamo l’interno. Superiamo sulla destra del percorso, una costruzione utilizzata nei fine settimana estivi. Raggiunto questo ultimo bivio, proseguiamo diritti, verso l’ampio prato che ci aspetta. La in fondo vediamo le montagne che cingono la valle Zurio. Un cartello, sulla sinistra ci illustra la località che abbiamo raggiunto. In fondo alla strada compaiono le Baite del Möschel. Sulla sinistra del prato è presente una baita isolata. Raggiunte le Baite ci fermiamo per una breve sosta, con uno spuntino. Al ritorno decidiamo di provare un altro percorso, che qui riportiamo. Dopo aver lasciato le baite del Moschel, prima di raggiungere l’ampio prato sulla destra della strada, ideale per una zona pic nic, prendiamo un sentiero sulla sinistra che scende verso il torrente Ogna. Il tratto si presenta scivoloso a causa delle foglie cadute e dell’umidità del bosco. Bisogna prestare molta attenzione per non scivolare. Raggiunto il torrente lo superiamo grazie ad un ponticello. Camminiamo lungo il sentiero sull’altro versante della valle e dopo pochi metri raggiungiamo un guado che si può attraversare a piedi facilmente. È presente anche un ponticello che permette il superamento dell’Ogna anche quando il torrente è pieno d’acqua.  Il sentiero CAI 340, ora si mantiene sempre sul versante di destra della valle, con variazioni di pendenza e ricco di ciottoli. In alcuni tratti viene percorso dall’acqua che scende dalla montagna e poi si inserisce nel torrente. Il percorso si snoda tra il torrente a sinistra e boschi di faggio sulla destra. Raggiungiamo un prato con una casa, che superiamo tenendola sulla destra, qui il sentiero diventa molto stretto ma facilmente percorribile. Al termine del sentiero arriviamo al primo tornante della strada che sale dalla frazione Spinelli e raggiungiamo il parcheggio.

The scenery we reach opens up into a fascinating and unspoilt natural amphitheatre made up of meadows, woods, barns, haylofts and no shortage of crystal-clear water springs: this is the Valzurio trek to the Baite del Moschel. We reach by car the hamlet of Valzurio (Municipality of Oltressenda Alta) where we point out the possibility of refreshments at the Baita Valle Azzurra, then continue to the locality of Spinelli where we park the car (950 m). The agro-sylvo-pastoral road climbs with easy gradients through the forest towards the Baite del Möschel huts. We meet along the way, on the right. a very well maintained house with a meadow for grazing. We reach a fork in the road and continue straight on from there. The sight that appears to us, with the sun peeping through the trees, is enchanting. Now the road flattens out slightly and down there, we glimpse a clearing. We reach a large meadow on the left of the road, ideal for a picnic area. Continuing on, we reach a sign on the left informing us what it was (el Selter Ruì). On the left of the path is a real natural refrigerator (el Selter Ruì), where milk and cheese were stored, thanks to the cold currents underground. We climb up the ladder and admire the interior. We pass, on the right of the path, a building used on summer weekends. Reaching this last fork in the road, we continue straight ahead, towards the wide meadow that awaits us. There at the end we see the mountains surrounding the Zurio valley. A sign on the left illustrates the locality we have reached. At the end of the road, the Möschel huts appear. To the left of the meadow is an isolated hut. When we reach the huts, we stop for a short break with a snack. On the way back we decide to try another route, which we report here. After leaving the Moschel huts, before reaching the wide meadow to the right of the road, ideal for a picnic area, we take a path to the left that descends towards the Ogna stream. The section is slippery due to fallen leaves and the dampness of the forest. Great care must be taken not to slip. When we reach the stream, we cross it thanks to a small bridge. We walk along the path on the other side of the valley and after a few metres we reach a ford that can be crossed easily on foot. There is also a small bridge that makes it possible to cross the Ogna even when the stream is full of water. Path CAI 340 now keeps to the right side of the valley, with variations in gradient and full of pebbles. In some sections, it is traversed by water flowing down from the mountain and then enters the stream. The route winds its way between the stream on the left and beech woods on the right. We reach a meadow with a house, which we pass keeping to the right; here the path becomes very narrow but easily passable. At the end of the path, we come to the first bend in the road that climbs from the hamlet of Spinelli and reach the car park.
