Rifugio Antonio Curò

    Zona delle Orobie

The Barbellino basin is undoubtedly one of the most interesting areas in the Orobie Alps for hiking, especially for the presence of several moderately difficult peaks reaching elevations around 3000 m.

The area is part of "Val Belviso-Barbellino" natural reserve and is rich in alpine fauna, especially in the more secluded areas. The Curò Hut (1915 m) is known also for its proximity of the famous “Cascate del Serio” (Serio river waterfalls) - created by the regular openings of a dam (five times a year) - which reach an overall height of 315 m in three steps. Them are the highest waterfalls in Italy and the second in Europe.

The winter emergency room is currently unavailable.
