Sentiero 243: Valcanale - Baita Santamaria in Leten

The path begins at the flat area (1209 m) of the old Valcanale ski chairlift station, at the end of the road that climbing from the village (last stretch closed to cars). Walk southward, climbing the ski runs, finally getting the basin of Vaghetto huts. Here the overlapped 266 path (at 1425 m near the lower Vaghetto hut) turns right. Turn left (southwest), reach the upper Vaghetto hut (1446 m) and, beyond it, head the base of the walls of Cima di Valmora. Start climbing the scree leading to the steep gorge (Expert hikers) ending at the “del Re” Pass (1997 m). Get the Santamaria hut in Leten on the easy downhill path through grassy pastures (1720 m - crossroad with paths 240 and 242).
