From the yard of Rifugio Ca' S. Marco (1830 m- car parking lot) take the path near the electric trellis, (first stretch (20 ' about) overlapped on 101 path then leading downhill to AcquaNera).
Continue along the hillside keeping your right and get the Verrobbio Pass (2026 m). From the pass enter Val di Bomino (Valtellina) and reach the beautiful lake of Verrobbio. Beyond it, walk a short stretch downhill and then climb steeply to Forcellino (pass at 2050 m). From here go down to Pescegallo Lake (1865 m), cross the dam (or follow the alternative path on the opposite bank of the dam) and go downstream the Pescegallo Valley on a forest road. At 1750 m a.s.l., leave the road and turn left on the path climbing in the woods to Rifugio Salmurano (1855 m). From the hut, head northward among pastures and stones and climb to Salmurano Pass (2017 m), border of Bergamo province, where you cross 101path leading to the Rifugio Benigni.
